Installation Summary

For Magento users, Referzo installation is a three step process.

1. Create a Referzo account.
2. Download the Magento Referzo Extension and Install the Conversion Widget
3. Add a Sharing Panel Widget or two.

For more details, see below.

Create a Referzo Account

Click www.referzo.com/merchants.php.

Enter your email address, domain, Company Name (as seen by customers) and password.

Click Create Account

On the subsequent page, add your terms and click Add Terms

Click Step 2

For Magento users, inserting your conversion code can be done using the Referzo Extension (see Conversion Widget below).

You must note the Merchant ID number found in the conversion code link. Look for “merchant=XXX”. You’ll need your Merchant ID when setting up the Magento Extension.

Once the installation is complete, you must test the conversion code by clicking the Test Transaction Link and completing a purchase.

Click Step 3

Enter credit card data to debit for referrals fees. Click Add Funds.

Install the Conversion Widget

Go to the Referzo Extension on Magento.

Click Install Now.

Click the checkbox to agree to the extension license agreement.

Click Get Extension Key.

Click Select Key.

Copy the key to your clipboard (CTRL+C or CMD+C).

On your server, login to your Magento admin panel.

Go to System / Magento Connect / Magento Connect Manager.

Login to Magento Connect Manager (if not already logged in).

Click the Settings tab.

Select Beta for Preferred State.

Click Save Settings.

Click Extensions tab.

Paste the extension key into the field for step 2, and click Install.

The extension is downloaded and a summary is displayed.

Click the Proceed button to install the extension. A summary of the install process is displayed in a console window.

Click the Refresh button below the console window and you’ll see the Referzo extensions at the bottom of the installed extension list.

Now return to your Admin panel, go to CMS / Widgets, and then click Add New Widget Instance.

In the Type dropdown menu, you should see the two Referzo widgets listed.

Select Referzo Conversion Snippet as Type.

Select default/default as the Theme and click Continue.

Enter a Widget Instance Title (i.e. Referzo Conversion).

Click Add Layout Update.

For Display On select Specified Page.

For Page select One Page Checkout Success.

For Block Reference select Main Content Area (it’s invisible so it doesn’t matter).

There are no Template options.

Repeat the above steps but select the Multishipping Checkout Success as the Page (when applicable).

On the left side of your Admin panel, select the Widget Options tab.

Enter your Referzo Merchant ID from Referzo.com.

Click Save.

Refresh the cache by going to System / Cache Management, check Layouts and Blocks HTML output, and then click the Submit button.

As a reminder, you must test the conversion code by clicking the Test Transaction Link (on Referzo.com) and completing a purchase.

Add a Sharing Panel Widget

Select Referzo Sharing Panel as Type.

Select default/default as the Theme and click Continue.

Enter a Widget Instance Title (i.e. Side Panel).

Click Add Layout Update.

Select the product pages on which you would like the banner to display (i.e. All Product Types).

For Block Reference, select the page location where you want the panel to appear (i.e. Right Column).

For Template, select the size (small, medium, or footer).

On the left side of your Admin panel, select the Widget Options tab.

Enter your Referzo Merchant ID from Referzo.com.

Enter your Primary message and if you’re using the medium size banner, enter a Secondary message.

Select the desired Referral Type. Domain only refers Referzo users to your home page. Current page refers Referzo users to whatever page they are on (like a specific product page).

Click Save.

If you wish to add another Share Panel Instance (i.e. a banner in the footer of every page), you can add as many widget instances as your situation dictates.

Refresh the cache by going to System / Cache Management, check Layouts and Blocks HTML output, and then click the Submit button.

Now go to your public site, refresh your page and ensure the layout is correct.
